April Favs & Reviews

April was quite the month. Here are a few highlights;

  • I'm acclimating well to my current job and survived a couple rounds of design meetings and project pitches!
  • I spent a whole day with my best friend earlier this month! Complete with a bike ride to the beach, rollerskating through the neighborhood, and some good ol' quality time. We don't get to see each other too often, so it's always the sweetest to hang out and catch up.
  • I shot some portraits for the first time in a long time. I don't know that I would ever pursue photography as a career but it's always fun to shoot and edit now and then.

Isle of Dogs- This movie!!! It’s so good! It’s cute and quirky in all the best ways. Even if you’re not a fan of Wes Anderson and claymation, trust me, I think you’ll still really enjoy it. And if you have even an ounce of interest in dogs, you’ll love it. Go see it!

New Girl- This is definitely an old favorite, but the latest and final season is out so I went back and rewatched season 6 to refresh my memory and was reminded of how hilarious the characters are. Winston is definitely my fav.

I made an April Favs playlist on spotify that you can check out here! Honestly, I've been listening to a lot of the same stuff recently, and most of the stuff in my discover section, I'm already familiar with. Hoping to find some new music soon!

As for podcasts-

Personality Hacker Podcast- If you know me at all, you’ve probably heard me talk on and on about Myers Brigg, Enneagrams, love languages, etc. Anything to do with personalities, really. I love learning about people and why they are the way they are. There are several episodes on INFJs-which is me- and it talks about how they often feel misunderstood or that they are primarily driven by intuition and emotions. I think it’s valuable to understand yourself in these terms because it’s affirming to know why you feel or act a certain way. But, I think it’s also important to take it all with a grain of salt because it can all get a little too calculated and we lose our authenticity when we define ourselves solely on personality types. To my fellow personality type nerd friends; let me know what you think!

Arm Chair Expert- I talked about this podcast on my last post, but a few more episodes have been released since then. This month I really enjoyed the Lauren Graham episode! I am a huge Lauren Graham fan because one- Gilmore Girls and two- Parenthood. She’s such a sweet and genuine human and her and Dax Shepard are long time friends because they were on a show together, so they have great chemistry.

Anna Faris is Unqualified- Anna Faris is sooo funny and really great at improv. I liked this episode in particular because I love Adam Scott-it's hard to separate him from his Parks and Rec personality, but he seems like a cool guy in real life too.

Florence- A couple weeks ago, my friend recommended this game to me. He prefaced by saying he thought it might end up in my April Favs. He was right.. He even bought it for me and said I had to turn my phone on do not disturb and play it in one sitting. The animation and game mechanics are incredibly well thought out! The art in combination with the soundtrack comes together quite seamlessly and it’s definitely worth the three bucks he forked out. Honestly, it’s so worth checking out because it's beautiful and well designed in all aspects, you won’t regret it. Ty eel! Excited for you to come home!! :)

A few of my favorite moments in photos-

That's all for this month! I didn't get around to trying too many new things, so no material favorites this time around. Hope you enjoyed April as much as I did!
